IRG (Isel Raft Guide) is a raft guide certification program hosted by Eddy Rafting Austria. The offered trainings cover level WW3 and WW4 for raft guide certifications. The goal of this compact training program is to develop each student’s skills and knowledge towards the requirements of the present industry standards.
The strengthening of technical skills in raft guiding and rescue techniques is given priority, along with understanding the principles of client management and the structure and culture of the rafting industry.
All students who complete the course successfully and meet the professional and attitudinal course requirements, should have developed the skills and knowledge to work as a competent trainee raft guide. They will have developed at least the following specific skills and knowledge:
- The capability to perform the functions required of a trainee guide in the rafting industry and the proficiency to accept responsibility for the safe leadership of activities and the elementary maintenance of equipment.
- Knowledge of the structure and legal requirements of the European and International Rafting Industry
- A clear understanding of the professional ethics, positions and values which are required in the supply of white water rafting experiences for clients.
